University Hospital Llandough – Dental Skills Room

Requirements

Medical Education were looking for options to upgrade and improve the audio visual and teaching facilities within the Dental Skills Room at UHL Hospital.

The main requirements of the project included:

  • Replace the dated projection system with high brightness display
  • Replace the original camera system to enhance close up teaching
  • Provide a solution to allow users to switch between camera and laptop presentation to the new 65” display and individual desktop monitors

The Solution

  • CM-Pro 75" 4K Display as the focal point for presenting in the room
  • 4x4 HDMI Matrix to distribute input signals to the CM-Pro and the existing desktop monitors at each workstation
  • Wide angle HD camera to be clamped to swing arm dental lamp to provide overhead view
  • Endoscopy snake camera for alternative angle\view
  • Logitech Meetup for video-conferencing
  • Camcom presenter control system with touch panel for system operation

Summary

The new technology has helped enhance the training facilities in the dental skills room. The users can view any one of 4 sources (HDMI, USB-c, Wide angle camera, Endoscopy camera) on either the main 75” CM-Pro display or the individual desktop monitors, with the ability to show different source simultaneously.
