Ivanhoe, St. Enoch's Centre
St. Enoch's Cente, Glasgow
In the current financial climate and with government incentives for companies who can reduce their carbon footprint becoming more common, not to mention the financial savings to be made by cutting back on employees flying half way around the world for a relatively short meeting, video conferencing is becoming a more and popular money saving solution for companies with a multiple sites and offices.

One such company are Ivanhoe Cambridge, a Canadian based property owner with a portfolio of over 70 shopping centres throughout North America, Central America and Europe, who identified a requirement for a video conferencing system in their management office within the St. Enoch shopping centre in Glasgow. As certified Scottish resellers for Polycom Video Conferencing, Ivanhoe Cambridge identified Cameron as the company with the experience and expertise to deliver a video conference solution to allow them to link the St. Enoch centre with their other offices and sites around the world.
Central to the system is the Polycom HDX7002 video conferencing codec and camera showing on dual 60' LG monitors, and features the 'People+Content' software option allowing the user to share data from their laptop with the far end party. When not being used for conferencing the screens of course can be utilised for normal laptop or DVD based presentations. By using the Kramer VP-211 automatic switcher in the design, the screens switch automatically to video conferencing mode as soon as the codec is switched on, whilst at all other times the screens will show the presentation from the laptop. This means that the end user only has to plug their laptop into one location, and they don’t have to worry about complicated switching or have to remove and replug in other cables when they want to move between normal presentations and video conferencing.
