As part of a major healthy eating initiative within Secondary schools in South Lanarkshire, the Freeway Information System was selected, allowing kitchen staff the capability to inform and encourage pupils to make healthy eating choices at break times.
Each system comprises a single zone Freeway System, which feeds three LCD screens mounted above the servery hatches.
As pupils queue, The Freeway software allows presentations detailing the range of options available to be displayed.
Specific presentations for morning, mid morning and afternoon break times are prepared in advanced, and using the Freeway scheduling software can be programmed to appear at the correct times.
The Freeway system can also display live TV, e.g. music or news channels and allows instant messages to be created using the quick message facility.
